Team Secondary School
The teammembers are well-qualified and energetic educators. They are all fully committed to international education and actively subscribe their role in the local and wider community. The educators have sound academic qualifications and demonstrate a commitment to the school as a learning and living community.
The spirit and ethos of the school is reflected in the staff profile that has been drawn up. All teaching staff will be experienced MYP leaders of learning. The important position of deputy head and MYP coordinator has already been filled with a very experienced MYP teacher and curriculum developer with leadership experience.
Jaap Mos - Founding director
Jaap is an experienced international educator who has successfully started several international schools. He was the principal of the International School of The Hague, as well as being involved with United World College in Maastricht and the International School Utrecht, to name but a few. Under his guidance, LanguageOne (previously Stichting Backershagen and Rijnlands Education Worldwide) has become expert in providing mother-tongue education for internationals abroad with locations in many countries. He was the chairman of the Dutch International Secondary Schools for many years, served on the Board of ECIS as well as being a member of the Regional Advisory Council of the International Baccalaureate Organization. He is now the driving force behind the start of the secondary school.
Minke Veeneklaas - Deputy head and MYP programme coordinator
After finishing her geography studies and an international teachers' education, Minke started her career at the International School of The Hague. With seventeen years' experience in various roles, including recent leadership roles within the International Baccalaureate Programme, she is ready to take on the role of deputy head and MYP programme coordinator and she will also teach the integrated humanities. Minke is an IB and United World College Swaziland graduate.
Suneel Madahar - Homeroom teacher, integrated science and design and mentor lessons
Suneel is British from an Indian background. He is an experienced teacher of the International Baccalaureate as well as the European Baccalaureate programmes. He has worked in the UK, The Netherlands and South-East Asia in his fields of expertise which also include ICT. He is passionate integrating digital learning into the curriculum.
